FIND YOUR SPARKLE: THE 52 CHALLENGE

So recently I've been listening to a lot of Gary V, Tim Ferriss and Tony Robbins and one of the  big messages coming through is to chase "what sets your spirit on fire". The only issue is, I don't actually know what sets my soul on fire anymore.

When I was younger I had so many hobbies and passions, I made my own clothes, I studied dance, acting, photography, I had a fashion blog and I loved to write and work on different creative projects. But after some long term relationships, moving states, more pressure at work and a big bout of illness, I don't actually know what I look doing anymore, and that sucks.

So one of my goals for 2018  is to find my sparkle, what turns me on, what do I enjoy spending my spare time doing that's more rewarding and beneficial to my soul then binge watching 4 seasons of Suits on Netflix.

In order to do this I've set myself a goal of doing 1 new thing per week for the next 52 weeks, they range from inexpensive and free activities to other activities that might cost more money. To keep me honest, each week I'll update you on my activity for the week and tell you about any new additions to my list.

So far my list is (in no particular order) -

1. Learn how to braid hair
2. Learn to surf
3. Cook a 3 course meal for friends
4. Cook a Sunday Roast
5. Indoor rock climbing
6. Read a book from start to end
7. Complete a DIY project
8. Do Yoga for 5 days in a row
9. Do a photoshoot with friends
10. Go hiking
11. Go Vegan for a week
12. Take a dance class
13. Do a boxing class
14. Speak publicly at an event
15. Take an art class or life drawing class

If you have any suggestions for hobbies or activities I need to try I'd love to hear from you!

MY PICKS: CORPORATE COOL

As promised these are some of my new corporate picks (on a budget). I've tried to go for basics I can still mix and match while also having fun with shapes, prints and colours. Feel free to click on the images below if you'd like to see where each piece is from and how much it costs.

HOW TO DO: CORPORATE COOL

So after 15 years of working in fashion and wearing sneakers with dresses, denim shorts and pretty much anything that resembles clothing (pajamas included), I'm moving to a corporate job. I'm really excited as the money is better than working in the fashion industry and I'll still hopefully be able to work with fashion businesses, BUT it means no more sneakers and short skirts in the office.

Part of me is excited to finally be able to separate work clothes from weekend clothes, and embrace my inner Rachel Zane or Donna from Suits, but I'm also a bit daunted as to how I can make corporate cool and not completely lose my personality.

I've started pulling a few inspiration looks on Pinterest, and I think the main points I'm thinking about so far are -

Shapes - I think structured is safe, but it doesn't mean I can't have fun with the cut of the skirt or the shape of the shirt or flare of the sleeves

Monochrome - for some reason monochrome always looks so chic, but I think I would need to balance it out with a bright lipstick or a statement jewelry piece (obviously I'm not ballsy enough to do white on white, but maybe baby steps with a taupe ensemble?)

Prints & Colours - I do love a good jewel tone and I think it's important to still have fun in the office and show a bit of personality with some block colours, or a great patterned skirt or set that you can mix and match.

To make things harder, I also need to do this on a budget! I've been looking at a few different websites so I'll do a post later in the week with the items I've been eyeing off to get these looks for less.

If you have any suggestions about websites or places to shop (Australia or Intl Shipping) I'd love to hear!
